Gallipoli ANZAC Flame has arrived at our clubrooms and will be carried to Gladstone Square for a ceremony on the 28th March and handed to the Port Augusta Mayor as custodian and kept at the Counsil chamber for display until ANZAC Day 2015. The Torch will be kept at the Port Augusta RSL after ANZAC Day!
Beautiful weather, great music and a splendid crowd gathered to watch the Gallipoli ANZAC Flame ride through Port Augusta on horse back and arrive at Gladstone Square on the 28th March 2015. After leaving the Port Augusta RSL the Flame was carried by WW1 Light horse reenactors and vintage military vehicles along Highway 1 to Gladstone Square where Locals awaited whilst enjoying family entertainment in the city centre. after a short ceremony it was handed over to Port Augusta Mayor Mr Sam Johnson for safe keeping at Council chamber until the 100th Anniversary of ANZAC day on the 25th April 2015.
